Our Club

Elizabeth Gymnastics Club was established prior to 1961 at St Peters College, later moving to the YMCA hall. In 1977 the Girls gymnastics was commenced and jointly used the newly built Elizabeth Recreation Centre. We continued to train there until 1996 when we purchased our own facility, which we now call `The Fremont Regional Gymnastics Centre. Our Gymnastics Centre caters for Recreational Gymnastics, Competitive Gymnastic, Cheerleading and Dance. Our club has served the community of Elizabeth for 50 years. At present, over 150 families within the northern districts utilise these facilities. All members of our club from our coaches & committee, to parents who help, are all volunteers, bringing the knowledge of gymnastics to the hearts of the youth in the northern suburbs. Some volunteers spending over 30 hrs a week at the gym plus more time behind the scenes. All our revenue goes towards our facilities overheads, new equipment and maintenance. In 1996 the State Gymnastics Association awarded us “Club of the Year”. There are over 120 clubs within our state. To win this award was an outstanding achievement by all club members. Our Association is Incorporated and affiliated with Gymnastics and Kindergym Association of South Australia who in turn are affiliated with Australian Gymnastics Federation, who in turn are affiliated with Federation of International Gymnastics.

Philosophy

Provide the gymnasts with adequate duty of care.

 - Follow the chain of command.

 - Provide a safe and harmonious environment for which the gymnasts can train and develop.

 - Must not be compromised by any differences amongst the gymnasts.

 - To be competent at the levels we are training.

 - To do everything in our power to help the growth of the club.

 - Dedicated coach bring out the true performance.

At Elizabeth Gymnastics Club we believe that we are not only training gymnasts but also assisting in the personal development of each child. The  lessons of determination, concentration, courage, teamwork, self-confidence and self-esteem are all a part of the training structure. It pleases us to know when gymnasts retire they will be taking these valuable assets with them.

Each gymnast that joins our club becomes a part of our huge and ever growing family. We encourage our older gymnasts to coach and judge so they can also help to support the community.

Together we are strong
Together we are a team
